Under the new manager, Ali Hutchinson, the Saturday 1st team achieved 9th place in Division Three.  Once again, the season can be summed up by the word "inconsistent" - good results being achieved against the top teams and not so good results aginst the teams around them in the bottom half of the table.  However, the points tally of 28 is a vast improvement on the previous season's tally of 13.  If the majority of the squad can be kept together, then maybe 2005/06 is the season when Writtle regain their place in Division Two.
