It was a case of "almost there" again for the Saturday Veterans.  Under the management of Mick Booth, 'Des' Blunderfield and Phil Thrift at various stages of the season, they finished third in the top division of the Essex Veterans League, only 6 points behind the winners, Benfleet.  Hopes were also high in the County Cup but Writtle had to make do with the quarter finals this year.

 

There was success in the end though as the Vets won the Tiptree & District Charity Cup with a comprehensive 4-1 victory in the Final.
