The 2003/2004 season saw Writtle Football Club celebrate its centenary season.  As well as games against league representative sides, the Chairman, Eric Gallacher, compiled a book that recalls some of the people past and present that have helped to make Writtle FC one of the leading sides in the Chelmsford area.  Over its 100 pages, numerous characters are profiled especially in those early days as football became organised around the start of the 20th century.
